It means that in the chaos to get the bug fix out I created an AS distribution that still defined external packages on my machine instead of the 'stripped' version. I've updatesd the AS distro file, but if you want to use FITSUTIL you'll need to install is separately first.-Mike

I installed iraf v2.14 on my new computer (running Fedora Core 8 ). When I tried to load MSCRED, I got the same error message:ERROR: task `fitsutil' has no param file
"fitsutil"
line 5: mscred$mscred.cl
called as: `mscred ()'I installed the latest AS.PCIX.GEN (dated Feb 19, 2008). Any idea? Thanks!!

MSCRED and FITSUTIL are external packages that must be installed separately. You can get sources and pre-built binaries from the download area, note that even if you use the binaries you need to install the sources for package scripts, help files, etc.-Mike

I didn't know that MSCRED actually uses FITSUTIL ... Problem solved. Thanks Mike!
