I have installed IRAF utilizing cygwin. I can run it and use the packages, etc. However, I can't successfully use mkiraf and create an login.cl file. Each time I get an error (Unmatched '.). It will create an uparm, ask for the teminal type and create a login.cl.OLD if I create a login.cl with vi. Can anyone help me?

The 'unmatched' message usually means there's an unquoted string in a script, but the mkiraf.csh is used on all systems and I can't see any errors in it. The simplest way to find the error is to execute the script as[code:1:6d4b6fc227]% csh -x /iraf/iraf/unix/hlib/mkiraf.csh[/code:1:6d4b6fc227]This will trace the script as it executes and show you exactly where the message is coming from. If you don't see anything obvious, post the results (or the mkiraf script itself).-Mike

I was able to fix the problem. My userid was "Chuck's Laptop". A tech helped me edit the name and mkiraf now works. Thanks!
