I am a windows user; I installed cygwin and I am trying to follow the instructions to install iraf in my vista. But I got stucked since the beginning because, even if I have an iraf user in vista, I can't open/find/access it in cygwin. Please, you can laugh, but help me

An 'iraf' user isn't strictly required (it's an old convenience that was never expunged from the install doc when the Mac/Cygwin port was done). As long as you have Cygwin and a tcsh installed, just follow the rest of the procedures as yourself.-Mike
