iraf.net

I am currently trying to install the x11iraf package on my PPC mac, running OS X 10.5.5. The installation runs smoothly, with no error, but, when i call "xgterm" in the terminal, i get the following result:[code:1:9233d7c174]dyld: lazy symbol binding failed: Symbol not found: _tgetent

The error may just mean you're using a really old version of the binaries that were compiled for a pre-10.4 system. Try using the binaries in https://iraf.net/ftp/iraf/x11iraf/x11iraf-v1.5DEV-bin.macosx.tar.gz and post back if you still have problems.Cheers,

Thank you, this did make it work properly.I can't fathom why the only version i found on http://iraf.noao.edu/iraf/ftp/iraf/x11iraf/ is 1.3.1 while you have 1.5. Perhaps i got lost where i wasn't supposed to be, in a dark corner of the ftp archives.Francois

FWIW, the 1.5 version was developed/released during the 'Dark Time' when NOAO dropped support of IRAF and is a product of this site. It's just never made it back to the iraf.noao.edu archives.-Mike
