[b:ec1587df6e]Subject: [/b:ec1587df6e][b:ec1587df6e]about dispersion axis[/b:ec1587df6e]
Dear Frank,
I have a problem on dispersion axis of a spectrum. In [b:ec1587df6e]kpnoslit package there is a parameter called dispaix.
Off this parameter
1- means line
2 - means columns
And there is a another parameter in apall, called line.
I am confusing about these lines. My spectrum is a horizontal one as shown in DS9 terminal. Could you please tell me if I want to do the wavelength calibration what should I put for above parameters. Thanks
Janaka

Dear Janaka,
The "line" parameter in apall refers to the line or column which crosses the dispersion axis at which display (as in the aperture editing) and tracing starts. So if dispaxis = 1 the the line parameter is the column for aperture editing and for tracing to start.Yours,
Frank
