Hi.I am trying to get IRAF running on a system using RedHat
Enterprise Linux 4 (kernel 2.6.9-22.0.1.ELsmp). I am having
trouble with X11IRAF. I have downloaded the latest X11iraf binaries
and source code for RedHat Linux and installed them according
to directions. I have the X-server running 256 colors. None
of the X11iraf binaries work correctly.xgterm:I made the symbolic link fix for the libncurses problem. However,
the system responds xgterm: no available ptyswhen I try to run xgterm.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ximtool:system responds
Incorrectly built binary which accesses errno or h_errno directly.
Needs to be fixed.
warning: cannot open /dev/imt1o
Segmentation fault.I checked and the /dev/imt1o file does not exist.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have tried to build the binaries from source but encountered
problems building the tcl and obm libraries. Specifically, the compiler
wanted tclint.h line 74 changed to include stdarg.h rather than varargs.h.
This change allows regexp.c to compile, but tclBasic.c fails with many
errors starting around line 1250. the other libraries build OK but of course
no exectuables.Advice???Don Martins

Hi Don,
Download the patched xgterm binary for Fedora/Enterprise from
our homepage, it'll fix the pty problem. Let us know if you're still
having problems.Cheers,
