Iraf help-I'm trying to install the new iraf by using the ecl_install_redhat.csh
script. The instructions note that I should execute the script by typing./ecl_install_redhat.cshI tried this and a Permission Denied error was reported:
./ecl_install_redhat.csh: Permission denied. When I typed ls -l, I noticed that it is not an executable file, which I
assume is the problem:
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4020734 Nov 7 12:43 ecl_install_redhat.cshcan you advise on how to install?
thanks-

Hi Sue,
You can either make the file executable with the command % chmod 755 ecl_install_redhat.cshand execute as per the instructions, or interpret it with the csh
directly using % csh -f ./ecl_install_redhat.cshEither will work, let us know if you still have problems.Regards,
Mike Fitzpatrick
