Hello Hans-Joerg Deeg, > is there are package, or method, to convert gki metacode to postscript? By "gki metacode" do you mean the IRAF internal Graphics Kernel Interface
format generated with one of these methods?:1. redirect the stdgraph stream:
cl> contour dev$pix >G spool.gki
2. interactively write out the graphics buffer to a GKI file:
cl> =gcur
:.write spool.gki
3. spool graphics output to the stdvdm stream:
cl> contour dev$pix dev=stdvdmIf so, you can use the SGI graphics kernel (tasks STDPLOT or SGIKERN in the
plot package) standalone to generate a PostScript file, encapsulated or not.
For example,
cl> sgikern spool.gki dev=eps # Encapsulated PS file in cwd
cl> sgikern spool.gki dev=psdump # PS file /tmp/irafdmp$$.psYou can get more information from the IRAF Beginner's Guide (available on
iraf.noao.edu as binary file pub/beguide.ps.Z) and from the on-line help
page for SGIKERN. Another useful document is the recently available
IRAF FAQ list, iraf/docs/FAQ on iraf.noao.edu. I hope this answers your question; write back if not.Suzanne Jacoby
