The "b" command in the noao.onedspec.splot is not working for me.
I am using NOAO SUN/IRAF Revision 2.10.2EXPORT Tue Nov 17 19:44:29 MST 1992This is what the "b" command is supposed to do:
b Set the plot base level to zero rather than autoscaling. This used to work fine, but now all it does is plot a straight line
of value zero. I'm thinking that this is a bug that has cropped up
in this revision. I'm hoping that you all know how to fix it.Hope to hear from you soon. Hope your New Year will be a great one!Christopher Owen Miller | Until I see, I won't believe, show it to me,

Christopher,
If I understand the problem, this was just reported a few days ago,
I'll append the buglog that describes the problem. Let me know if the
workaround fails or if the problem continues.Regards,
Mike FitzpatrickNUMBER: 196
MODULE: splot
SYSTEM: V2.10.2
DATE: Fri Jan 8 16:39:01 MST 1993
FROM: valdesBUG: Use of "zero" in the option parameter (or ymin=0.) or the 'b' key
with flux calibrated data causes a plot with limits -0.01 and 0.01
making the data appear all zero. The workaround is to set the
minimum value to a number much smaller than the data but not
exactly zero. For example setting ymin=1e-30 when the data
is around 1e-14. This plot limit behavior applies to all tasks
(GRAPH, IMPLOT) but is most likely to appear in SPLOT with flux
calibrated data.STATUS: A change to a system routine is required and has been requested.

Hello Christopher,I am sorry about the annoying bug in SPLOT. It is a transient thing
in V2.10.2 which will be fixed. The only workaround I can think of
is to set the Y scale and then use ":/xwin lambda1 lambda2" to expand
the wavelength scale as you need. The equivalent cursor keystrokes
in the "window" command are wj for the left and wk for the right
(see "help gtools"). Any commands which adjust the y scaling means you
have to set the lower y limit again. If you like the 'a' key because
it autoscales to the data in the x range then you immediately follow
it with ":/ywin 1e-30 INDEF" and then a 'r' redraw. I hope this is
a little help.Cheers,
Frank
