This is the same information we have seen and according to this information,
IRAF will not run under Solaris, since it breaks several of their guidelines
(is statically linked, does not use 5lib, etc.). IRAF also has interesting
things like the S6.e (shared image) which are unusual.Regarding compilers, we will support the expensive Sun Fortran and C
compilers, but perhaps we could support f2c/gcc or some such as an
alternative architecture for sparc systems, so that users have a choice.
