Subject: 1 more on previous subject...I can ALMOST do this in imexamine: I can fit a Guassian. But it doesn't
tell me the integral, only the peak, fwhm, and background.

Cc: bruce@noao.edu, dtody@tucanaFrank, that's great to know that there is a way to do this. The one thing
I would urge, though, is that since this is something that needs to
be done real often [say, at the end of each integration], it would be really
neat if there was an easier [fewer keystrokes] way than what you suggest
for splot. Is there any hope of getting this "integrate under the profile"
thing into implot for V2.10?---phil>From valdes Tue Jun 16 14:53:53 1992

Cc: bruce@noao.edu, dtodyPhil, in SPLOT it is easy with the 'e' (integrate) or 'k' (fit a Gaussian)
keys. They each require two cursor positions to define the continuum but I
can't image anything easier. This is also basically what the IMPLOT
changes will be like. The only point about SPLOT which might be annoying
is the need to change dispaxis if DISPAXIS is in the header from the way
SPLOT starts up. Of course with an image section (once the fix is
propagated) you can do it directly that way. The IMPLOT changes are too
late for V2.10 since it has been frozen for some time now. However, I
think Doug would tell you that when we do the IMPLOT changes (something
which is near the top of my queue but which always seems to be receding) we
will do something to get it to the mountain expediously. He and whomever
will have to work out the plan but I will do the changes as soon as the
development system is unfrozen. I just noted your point about IMEXAMINE
not supplying the integral flux and that seems like an omission which
should be fixed at some point.Frank
