Subject: dispcorHi Frank
Now that dispcor no longer allows for inputting record extensions how do I
process multiple records with the same name (eg. 1012.04,1012.03,etc.)?
Our help files have not been updated so......! Thanks. Margaret>From valdes Fri Jun 5 12:07:06 1992

Subject: Re: dispcorHi Margaret,The record number extension syntax was a bit of a kludge. The way things
work now relies on using image filename templates. There is quite a
sophisticated syntax which is probably discussed in some intro or other.
If you have images like root.0001, ... you could do things like: root.*.imh # Select all image with the same root
root.001![4-9].imh # Select image with ext 14-19The second syntax requires the '!' to avoid interpretation as an image
section. Then the "[]" gives a CHARACTER set (not a number range
unfortunately. If you have to span changes in more than one digit
this requires something like: root.001![4-9].imh,root.002![0-5].imh # 14-25
root.00![12]![5-9].imh # 15-19,25-29Note the .imh is required to complete the pattern matching against the
actual disk files. An alternative is to use the NAMES task to generate a file of images
using the record syntax and then use an @list syntax cl> names root 1-6,22,24 > imlist
cl> dispcor @imlistFinally, you can also load the imred.iids package where DISPCOR does
have the record parameter.Cheers,
FrankP.S. For a general usage question you should send mail to iraf@noao.edu
since several people might be able to respond. I will be at the
AAS next week for example.
