Subject: Re: Installing IRAF in a network of DEC-stations Mike, After a staying up for a couple of nights I was able to make IRAF running
in our network of workstations. I had to modify the installation
scripts to account for the fact that I do not have a username iraf.
This way every user that initializes his/her account will get his/her
oown copies of the graphcap and imt* files. Your help was essential to the success, and I would like to thank you
for that. Since as far as I know M.I.T. and N.C. State have similar network systems
of DECstations, I could send you, (if you want) the scripts to see how
IRAF is working here, so that you could help other people that have
similar problems. I was also trying to get the form REGISTER from iraf.noao.edu and I was
getting a "Permission denied" message. Could you send me the form to
complete it ? Thank you again for all your help,

I'm glad to hear you've got IRAF installed, please let us know if
you run into any problems. It's probably not necessary for you to send the
modified scripts, if we ever need them we can always ask later. I'll append
the REGISTER form here, but are you sure you weren't in a non-writable on
your end (there shouldn't be a premission problem here)? Anyway, glad we
