 "Alt" key and Imtool / SunOS version

Hi, folks -- We've had trouble with using the "Alt" key to switch frame buffers
on the image tool window since our system upgrade to SunOS 4.1.1 . Does
Imtool use a keyboard-reading service in Suntools which is version-
dependent? (We've upgraded 3 machines, and the problem apparently
is consistent). Thanks in advance (and for all your
past help), Jeff Miller

Hi Jeff, The keystrokes for displaying frame buffers in sequence are compiled into
the IMTOOL code: #define NEXT_SCREEN 006 (^F or ALT, prior to OS 4.1.1)
#define PREV_SCREEN 022 (^R)
#define CYCLE_BLINK 002 (^CoolUnder OS 4.1.1, the ALT key no longer produces the octal sequence 006 and
so doesn't display the next frame in sequence. You can try remapping keys
in a .ttyswrc file but watch out for non-IRAF applications that make use
of ALT or any other key you may chose to redefine.Suzanne Jacoby
