I have made the following changes in CCDRED for the next IRAF release.1) The default output and calculation datatypes are real.
2) The ccdred.pixeltype parameter is used to specify the output and
calculation datatypes as two words: (pixeltype = "real real") Output and calculation pixel datatypesThe consequence of these changes is that there need be no changes to
users parameter files; i.e just specifying one datatype selects the
output datatype as before. The only reason to use the second
specification is to force a short calculation data path. The
main default behavioral change is that for purely short input and output
images the internal arithmetic will now be real instead of short.
