Returned a call from Pat Day inquiring about running IRAF on either a high
end IBM RS/6000 or Prime system. This will be a 4Gb disk system with up
to 12 Xterminals and 24 ascii terminals; the rs/6000 they are looking at is
the recently announced model 950, about a $200K configuration. When I
discouraged him from Prime, he said I had made his day. They wouldn't expect
to have things running until around the end of the year, by which time we
should have some form of early aix port.
