Marc, The "mkpkg -ddd" output is informative. After mkpkg scans the special
file list for the token "sys$osb/" it should then report
scan special file list for directory irafdisk:[iraf.sys.osb]Instead, in your output, the message is
scan special file list for directory irafdisk:[iraf.ioing]which is the current working directory where you executed the mkpkg command.I theorize that mkpkg can't resolve the sys variable in the CL environment
and so looks in VMS where it finds the logical sys defined as sys$sysdevice. The mkpkg utility should find sys in irafhlib:zzsetenv.def. Your definition
of irafhlib looks fine; please verify that zzsetenv.def exists, is world
readable and contains the sys definition:
set sys = "iraf$sys/"The translation of iraf comes from sys$library/iraf.h (for example):
#define IRAF "usr2:[iraf]"If you have a zzsetenv.def file in your login directory, that will be
used instead of the one in irafhlib.I will search through the code and let you know when I learn something.
Meanwhile, please check the above items on your system. I haven't been
able to duplicate the error here and I imagine a remote login to your
machine is not possible. Suzanne Jacoby
