George, The solution is to replace your old version of IMTOOL. Are you actually
running IRAF 2.6 itself on your SPARCstation, or 2.8 and just imtool is the
2.6 version? If you are running IRAF 2.8 (which you should be), you definitely
don't want the old 2.6 imtool anyway as the new version is much more capable
and a number of tasks in 2.8 require the new version to function properly.
If you have iraf 2.8, the new imtool is probably already on disk and perhaps
just hasn't been properly installed. Let me know if you need help with the
installation. You will still need to make that patch on the imtool executable.Steve (rooke@noao.edu)
