Hi Jeannette, Doug and Steve (et al.): I would be very grateful if you could send me IRAF for the Sun 386i
on 386i-readable cartridge tape, with manuals. I expect to be able to get it
up in May. I have a 386i Roadrunner RR150-FC8 (16" colour, 8 MBytes), with
a 300 MB Wren IV disk. We are getting a second disk, at least 600MB, this
summer. Ernie Seaquist is buying another 386i this summer, and Tom Bolton
may get a thir; we also have 5 PC's on the same Ethernet at the David Dunlap
Observatory, and I have just yesterday spoken with Jim Thomason (sp?) of
Oregon who has recently announced an X-windows terminal emulation package
for PC's with EGA, VGA & some other good display cards; we will probably want
to run X as well. (I gave him Steve's name). As well as our CCD system at Las Campanas, we use intensified CCD
guide cameras for seeing tests and some image work in Toronto. We are planning
a spectroscopic CCD system, and I would be interested in finding out how
IRAF is used in data acquisition applications.Stefan W. Mochnacki INTERNET - stefan@helios.physics.toronto.edu
