Hi Skip - I can't get you on the phone. First busy, and now no answer ...I did some tests with graph, and find out that the manual page correctly
describes the use of graph with INDEF's. That is, for a 2-d image containing
INDEF's:'graph image[*,n]' where n names a single row WILL work. The INDEF's appear
as blanks in the plot. I found I had to manually set the y limits
though (wy1, wy2) or else the maximum y value would be 1.6e38, INDEF on lyra.'graph image' does NOT work. This is involves a projection, since more
that one row is being referenced. In the default case, with the projection
axis = 1, the pixels at each column are summed over rows and plotted. The
summation is done with aaddr, which does no INDEF checking, and an overflow
error is seen. Using graph on a list of numbers that contains INDEF's works fine, even
the scaling is okay.I didn't have time to search the IRAF mail for Zoltan's previous message;
I seem to recall it had something to do with GIO properly handling INDEF's
if they occurred as the first values in the plotting vector, but not if they
were imbedded in the vector. Hmmm ... can't recall - I'll try to ferret
that out.Suzanne
