I downloaded the latest iraf from iraf.noao.edu and installed it on a Fedora 22 system. The installation was completed with no errors. But each time I tried to run cl or ecl, the system echoed,
/usr/local/bin/cl: /usr/local/iraf/iraf//unix/hlib/irafarch.csh: /bin/csh: bad interpreter: No such file or directory
ERROR: No /usr/local/iraf/iraf//bin./vocl.e binary found.
What's the problem?

The 'bad interpreter' message means you need to install a C-shell on your system (i.e. "sudo yum install tcsh"). However, the install script should be using the Bash shell by default so I'm a little confused as to why it would be looking for the cl.csh script. Once you've installed a C-shell, try running the install script again, then check to see which file the /usr/local/bin/cl command is linked to.

Yes, everything is fine after I installed tcsh. Thank you very much!
