Greetings All!

This is my first post on iraf.net, so I'll try to be as clear as possible.

Problem:
'ximtool: attempted write out of bounds on framebuf'
Whenever I attempt to display or imexam an image from iraf (or pyraf) it would only load in 512x512 of the original image (which was 4098x2048). I attempted to create a new image buffer setting 'imt60' in imtoolrc and graphcap, but something is amiss.

Setup:
-Macbook Pro 15'' Non-Retina (i7x8GB RAM)
-IRAF installed under /iraf/iraf/
-duplicate buffer files under ~/iraf/:
--~/iraf/.imtoolrc
--~/iraf/mygraphcap
-modified login file:
--set stdimage=imt60
--set graphcap=/path/to/~/mygraphcap

Edit in ~/.imtoolrc :
"60 1 4098 2048 # imt60|imtusna"

Edit in ~/mygraphcap :
"# Custom user settings
imt60|imtusna|:cn#60r#3000:yr#5000:\
:LC:BS@:z0#1:zr#200D=node!imtool,,3000,5000:tc=iism70:"

Creating a new frame buffer size requires editing the imtoolrc file and graphcap file as you've done, but you need to be sure to also point your session to use the modified graphcap file:



Also, the graphcap requires that you change the ":cn" (configuration number, 60 in your case) as well as the "r" and ":yr" resolution values (you're were set at 3000x5000).
