I'm finding wavelength calibration a bit of a hassle using Doecslit. I have different comps for each Echelle spectra and it wants me to ID lines every time. Is there a way to invoke EcReidentify during Doecslit's interactive stages of wavelength calibration?
So far I've been defining order/background apertures, then their traces, and then when I enter Ecidentify I simply "q" out, it then makes an *.ec.fits file for the comparison spectrum that I can run EcReident. I then turn Redo on in Doecslit and redo the apertures/traces (even the ref spectrum at this point) and when I hit the comparison the lines are all identified and I can work with the interactive fitting for wavelength calibration. It seems to work...
