I generated a psf using the psf task and I need to adjust its intensity to apply it to an over-exposed star. Is it possible to do it in iraf?

I assume you mean adjust its shape since that overall intensity is determined when it is applied to individual stars to match the star's magnitude relative to the PSFMAG header parameter in the psf image.I've not adusted the shape of the output PSF image file and it might be tricky to do. But if you understand the format of the file as described in the help page for psf then you might be able to change things with general image handling tools. But normally this is not something that would be done.Frank Valdes
