Splot seems to do only very weak validation of input for the "line" and "band" parameters. In particular, the user can enter values that far exceed the actual upper limit for line or band for a given image. Could this be improved? Is there a reason why the validation is weak? Also, the minimum for "line" is zero. Should that be one? The upper limits depend upon a given image and would have to be determined at run time. So by "validation", I guess I actually mean, "throw an error" if the parameters given are wrong.Jason

The validation could obviously be improved ( ) but, due to limited resources and the stability of this task, this is unlikely to happen. The reasons may be just a programming failure to deal with this or maybe that the validation requires first reading all the data (suppose you have a list of spectra with different content). So you can consider your report accepted, for what that's worth.Frank Valdes
