Ok I've used mkiraf to reset login.cl and had some luck, I can now create imh files from fits - however its still wont let me open the images?? Code below:[b:c88cbe5f96]cl>rfits
FITS data source () : o4lm03010_raw.fits
File/extension list(): 1
File: o4lm03010_raw.imh
Extension: 1 IMAGE -> o4lm03010_raw.imh size = 2048x2048
bitpix=32 scaling=none pixtype=long
Warning: Cannot open pixel file (o4lm03010_raw.imh)
[/b:c88cbe5f96]
and I can't open in them in splot?? Thanks again

RFITS doesn't handle table extensions, for that you'll need to use the STRFITS task in the TABLES.FITSIO package. If the table is just wavelength/intensity pairs, you might be better off using something like TPRINT to print the table as text, and then use the RSPECTEXT task to create an image with dispersion keywords that SPLOT would understand.
