After successfully installing NOAO Iraf on OSX 10.6 I look for install TABLES package and I saw STSCI have a DMG binary with a much more easy installation for Iraf.
See http://www.stsci.edu/resources/software_hardware/pyraf/stsci_python/current/downloadIt's a OSX package with user friendly installation. However, because I already have installed NOAO Iraf, may be installation from scratch is not so easy.I hope this helps and save lots of time to some users.
