HeyI know I can move images with bash commands and use imcopy to copy images with certain parameters, but is there a way to combine these? The data-sets I have to work on are a mess...so I created a script which automatically copies the correct fits-extension and sorts the images by Filter. But there is a flaw in the script: I have to copy the images twice (1: copy the fits-extensions in a single file, 2: copy the files in directories sorted by filter), because I use imcopy! It would be much faster if the last step would be a "move"-operation.So...is there a way or a package in IRAF which lets me actually move (not copy) images which are listed in a file? Maybe a bash command can do this as well?cheers

Maybe I'm not quite understanding what you're trying to do, but doesn't the iraf MOVE or IMRENAME task do what you want? Both accept a directory name as the output argument.
