Hi Mike,IRAF (v2.14) on my Mac Pro XMP seems to have a problem with time stamps
whenever some header update occurs (e.g., in `hedit ... add+'). The
time associated with the FITS file is then PST (standard time) instead
of PDT (daylight saving time) like all other files have. The weirdest example is when, in IRAF, I `touch' a file as follows:
touch name.fits verbose+
The printed comment claims to modify to "system time" and gives the
correct PDT, but in UNIX the file then lists with PST time, which differs
by one hour from all other FITS files. Is there any easy way to fix this?Cheers,
Francois

There was a bug fix in the v2.14.1 release related to the detection of daylight savings time that might explain the problem. If you're sure you are running v2.14 and not v2.14.1 (see the hlib$motd file) the updating your version should do the trick. OTOH, if you're sure this is v2.14.1 then there may still be a problem. Unfortunately a code change is required and the entire system needs to be relinked in order to fix this.-Mike

Hi Mike,Thank you very much for your prompt reply. The IRAF version I am running is v2.14, not v2.14.1, and I downloaded it via `scisoft' about a year ago. Will look into attempting to download v2.14.1 directly, which I should have learned to do long ago. Unfortunately, systems are not my forte...Cheers, Francois
