hi all,i have several spectrum (after dispcor) with gaussian profile. i need to convert it into data text, i try to say that i want to display in text file instead spectrum (image file), so i can get detail. How can i do that?Any help would be appreciated.Thank you

See the WSPECTEXT task in the ONEDSPEC package.

I have little problem. I have identified (task IDENTIFY) the spectrum, and from identify plot, it was showed that the relationship become intensity vs wavelength. Then i tried ONEDSPEC-WSPECTEXT and the output file was intensity vs pixel. How this can be?

The IDENTIFY task, assuming you saved the fitted results, only generates the database with the dispersion solution. You need to then use the DISPCOR task to apply the solution to the image so it has a proper WCS.If you're just getting pixel values out instead of wavelengths you may have skipped this last step.

I forget to tell, that i was already tried DISPCOR for my spectrum. My spectrum is spectrum of comparison lamp. And there was error occured. I have done DISPCOR for object star, with REFSPEC1=comparison_lamp1.fits and REFSPEC2=comparison_lamp2.fits (added via HEDIT task). I have found spectrum of object star with relationship wavelength vs intensity.Any suggestion?

I'm not sure I understand: Are you saying there was a DISPCOR error on the comparison spectrum (what error?) and that when you used this in a REFSPEC keyword it didn't apply? For this to work the dispersion solution must have been applied to the comparison spectrum first so that it has the proper keywords. You'll need to solve the error you saw first.Do either of your comparison or object spectra have a solution? Note you can use the SLIST task to print out what iraf thinks the wavelength solution is in each image.

DISPCOR error message:Warning: Cannot open file (database/ecap_c1_ga)
Warning: Cannot open file (database/idap_c1_ga)
Warning: ap_c1: Dispersion data not found in object star, i used comparison spectrum before and after object spectrum, and i think it is usual. In this comparison lamp, i don't really understand what should i fill. I tried with "WarmWhiteFl.data" and the result is error message just like above.I have a solution for object star, but not in comparison lamp. I stucked in here, because i need wavelength vs intensity for comparison lamp, beside object star which i found it first. Here are the print out of task SLISTap_c 1 1 1 -1 1. 1. 765What it means?Thank you

I have encountered a hitch with WSPECTEXT -- in onedspec. I am sure I have used this ok before. But maybe not when running IRAF on a cygwin platform as at present...(?)
WHat happens now (after something like wspectext [imagefile] [data.txt]
is the following:
task 'hselect' not found
"hselect (input, "$I,naxis, yes, ) specin)"
line 21: onedspec$wspectext.cl
called as : 'wspectext (input=w5540025s085.fit), output= ord85.txt)'
There is deinitely a file called hselect in c:\cygwin\iraf\riaf\images\imutil --so why the fallover...?Aould appreciate some help on this.Ed Budding

Be sure you did a MKIRAF to create a login.cl file, and that you typed 'cl' to login to iraf from the directory with that login.cl file. This is what loads the default packages that include HSELECT.Otherwise, type 'images' and 'imutil' to load the proper package (but note you'll be missing the proper package for many other tasks).
