I have edited the appropriate parameter file in order to add my observatory and its information to the list of observatories that setairmass uses. Whenever I try to use setairmass I get the error, "OBSGETD: Observatory parameter not found." Also, when I try to use the task ASTTIMES, I get the same error along with, "ASTTIMES: Observatory parameter for baker observatory; timezone=6." I don't understand why I am getting the OBSGETD error; it will even give me the observatory parameters at the same time as giving me that error.

Exactly which file did you edit and what entry did you add? The message means something can't be found but without knowing what you added I can't really comment further.

I edited the library file "obsdb.dat" which has all the observatory parameters and I added the same parameters for the observatory that I use. Is there another file that needs to be edited for this to work?

As long as the file was $iraf/noao/lib/obsdb.dat then you edited the right file. The 'obsdb' environment variable lets you define another file to use. If you could post the entry you added I'll see if there's a syntax error, otherwise I can add it to the master file for the next release.

This is the entry I added:observatory = "baker"
name = "Baker Observatory"
longitdue = 93:02:30.29
latitude = 37:23:55.05
altitude = 418.2
timezone = 6This is the error I get when I try to run asttimes:asttimes
Observatory identification: baker
# ASTTIMES: Observatory parameters for Baker Observatory
# timezone = 6
ERROR: OBSGETD: Observatory parameter not found
