Hi,Someone just installed iraf for me on my mac (OSX leopard), and everything is working great so far except that when I use imexam, instead of the nice plot that shows up in irafterm, this shows up in my terminal:rserver # XGTERM.GUI -- Default GUI for Xgterm, providing a standard graphics terminal
# emulation.reset-server
appInitialize irafterm IRAFterm {
IRAFterm.objects: toplevel Gterm gterm
*allowShellResize: true
*gterm.warpCursor: true
*gterm.raiseWindow: true
*gterm.deiconifyWindow: true
}
createObjects
send gterm setGterm
activate
re[reset]sz[R]
.....lots of gibberish....
I've just been using the mac terminal window for iraf, not xgterm, but I don't know how to tell iraf that I'm using plain old terminal, and the person who helped me install iraf is on vacation for the next 4 weeks.Thanks!

The mac terminal window cannot be used for graphics. You'll need to have X11 installed and start IRAF from an XGterm you already have running. You can use the X11 default XTerm but need to be sure to set your terminal type accordingly when you do a MKIRAF.

When you run MKIRAF, it will ask "Enter terminal type:", just reply 'xterm'. If you're already logged into the CL you can type "stty xterm" to reset it.
