hi,
i'm currently going through exercises in wavelength calibration using IRAF.i'm studying the conventional tutorials but they seem inadequate in giving a deep understanding on what's really happening. are there any documents on wavelength calibration which are more easier to understand for beginners?amal mirando.

See the 'Docs' link on the banner bar for Cookbooks and more detailed info on the spectroscopy tasks than is provided in the exercises. There are also various user-written docs on the web if you Google e.g. "iraf dispersion tasks"
