HiI am trying to extract a single spectrum from multi-spectrum(.ms.fits)
files using scopy. My data consists of 300 multi-spectrum aperture fits
files. Each aperture contains the following: sky-subtracted spectrum,
non-sky-subtracted spectrum and the sky's spectrum. I would like to
extract just the final sky-subtracted spectrum from each aperture file.
It is my understanding that scopy can achieve this. Following the
example in the help file for scopy, I typed the following command:
/scopy aperture.ms.fits output.fits aperture=1/. The result was the
following: Warning: Output spectra cannot have the same aperture number.
Use renumber parameter.
I don't know what is meant by this. If you could please give me the
proper command, I would be very grateful!Cheers!Skyler

The command you have used is correct in order to extract just one aperture. However, it seems the apertures need to be renumbered. To do the renumbering you will need to change the parameter in scopy. Do the following: cl> epar scopyUnder renumber choose "yes". Try this out to see if it works the way you want it.
