While running "imexam" I cannot add regions in ds9 (I want to click the mouse, for example, and get a nice green circle in the current frame) and cannot manipulate already existing regions. (I'm using Mac OS X 10.5.6 with the latest Scisoft IRAF.)Are there any parameters/settings in either ds9 or imexam that I can set to allow me to work with regions while also using imexam? It is extremely useful to be able to directly mark areas of interest on the image while examining the image with imexam. Thanks!

The region stuff is internal to DS9 and is apparently disabled when the task goes into 'image cursor' mode. There isn't any way to reset this in DS9 that I know of, and certainly not in IMEXAM, other that to quit cursor mode temporarily.Note that XImtool also has a way to draw markers on the display and these remain sensitive even in cursor mode.-Mike
