hi
I have problem with installing IRAF.
I get a irafsource and make IRAF user and also make directorys.
but my problem is that I can't unpack main IRAF distribution.whould you suggest me how can I unpack that??  : regards,behnaz forotaninia

Distribution files are compressed tar files and can be unpacked as e.g.[code:1:8f0419d316]
% cd /iraf/iraf
% tar zxf /path_to/as.pcix.gen.gz
[/code:1:8f0419d316]For the binaries you would run similar commands on the appropriate IB or NB distribution files in /iraf/irafbin/bin.<arch> and /iraf/irafbin/noao.bin.<arch> respectively. See the installation guide for a complete example and details.-Mike
