Hello,Did anyone install scisoft-iraf succesfully on a Suse 10.2. There is crazy problem of libf2c. I installed f2c but it did not provide it.Interestingly, I can install scisoft-iraf to Suse 10.1 without libf2c. Namely, Iraf is working and there is no libf2c in the system. And another question, did you try it with yum?Best wishes,
bulash

There is a libf2c.a (and f2c.h) in the iraf$unix/bin.suse directory you can install manually, but it should be found automatically. In v2.13 where there is nothing in $iraf/unix/bin.suse, just copy (NOTE: copy, not move) the contents of $iraf/unix/bin.redhat to $iraf/unix/bin.suse. -Mike

OK, thank you very much for your reply. However, i tried to install "scisoft-iraf" and there is no something like
iraf$unix/bin.suse directory in the machine. It will just create a directory named /scisoft to the base, when installation finish.Regards.

Scisoft does weird things to bury the path. If /iraf/iraf/unix/bin.suse doesn't work, log into the CL and issue the commands:[code:1:a6726020e4]
cl> cd host$
cl> path
[/code:1:a6726020e4]That will tell you the path to the iraf$unix directory, there should be a 'bin.suse' and 'bin.redhat' in there.-Mike

Great way, I did not know that. But, it is something like paradox. Becuse the iraf/iraf/unix will be in the
/scisoft/share/...iraf/iraf/unix. (if I will be able to finish instalation succesfully!)There is no /scisoft and sub directories, because I could not install the scisoft-iraf. But, I need libf2c in order to install scisoft-iraf. I confused very much. How can I copy a file in the absence of that file?regards.

One way would be to bootstrap by getting the as.pcix.gen distribution file form the Downloads area of this site. Otherwise a note to the Scisoft folks about the problem.I do remember having a question (in my own mind) about whether the self-contained f2c was actually working when f2c wasn't also installed on the system, I'll look into it again.Cheers,
-Mike
