Anyone know if the ACE (Astronomical Cataloging Environment) package is available for download somewhere? I've looked all over. Don't really need it but thought I'd install it.Also, NOAO.IMRED contains a CRUTIL package. It appears that version distributed with the latest NOAO tarballs is version 1.5 while there exists a v1.6 external package. The 1.6 version has been out since 2001. Is this something that should be synced up in the distributed IRAF 2.14 tarballs?JasonPS I am so-far successfully running IRAF with lots of packages on a Intel Core 2 Duo 64-bit Kubuntu 7.10 machine. I am running the pre-compiled 32-bit binaries. I followed the instructions given in the 64-bit AMD website (Google search "Installing IRAF on Ubuntu Edgy amd64"). Couple snags along the way but solved with the power of Google. I was getting some needed library error (libtermcap.so.2 if memory serves) when I would try to start the cl but I downloaded the statically linked ecl.e that fitz posted and all is well. Jason,The version numbers in the CRUTIL external package and the core system version package parameters are likely to be an oversight (Frank can comment), however I can assure you the version in the V2.13 and later releases is the most recent.Elements of the ACE package are already in the system albeit in the form of hidden tasks (e.g. the DETECT task in NPROTO) and aren't really current. The full ACE package is scheduled for release shortly but I'll defer to Frank to comment on the details.Cheers,
-Mike

Frank
