I'm trying to use the nstar command as part of daophot, but it doesn't seem to be working as described in the 'help nstar' file. According to the 'help nstar' file, each star in the nrj 'reject file' should have a pier number corresponding to what error caused it to be rejected. Pier 7 corresponds to the star no longer being on the frame, but whenever I run nstar instead of having the stars that wander off the frame placed in the nrj file labeled as 'pier 7', the stars are simply removed and left out of both the nrj and nst files. This is really causing problems when I try to psort by id and then match up stars from night to night. How do I go about fixing this problem and get those stars added to my nrj file? Thanks

Hi,I wanted to at least acknowlege your problem. The author of nstar is no longer with the IRAF project and does not appear to be participating in the forums. The code is sufficiently complex that my quick examination of the code did not result in an answer. So at this point I'm afraid I can't give you any direction.Yours,
