iraf.net

Hi,
I successfully installed IRAF today and was able to make a login.cl
file, but i went to run the command cl, the terminal says/iraf/iraf/bin.linux/cl.e: Command not found.
I looked through the FAQs, but couldn't find any documentation on this

HiCheck that you are in the correct login dir. Then do a mkiraf. If it still does not want to find cl.e, check that the links to the cl.e file is correct. Or just rerun the IRAF install script.Hope this helpsRegards

First verify that the /iraf/iraf/bin.linux/cl.e file does actually exist as the correct path on your machine. If you can login through the 'iraf' account and not your own then it may be that the default umask for your system has restricted permissions somewhere in the path, e.g. do an 'ls -lad" on /iraf, /iraf/iraf, etc to be sure it has world read/execute permissions. Normally this would also prevent you from finding the 'cl' command as well but is worth checking.Note the 'linux' architecture is for systems other than Redhat/Fedora, having $IRAFARCH defined incorrectly in your environment could also be a problem. If you still have problems please post your linux distribution and the iraf version you're trying to install.Cheers,
