Hi all. I use iraf on Linux/FedoraCore2. I start [b:f5e254554f]xgterm[/b:f5e254554f]
and then [b:f5e254554f]pyraf[/b:f5e254554f]. When I try start [b:f5e254554f]spectool[/b:f5e254554f] this application
is crashed with error:
--> spectool o1.fits
Killing IRAF task `spectool'
Traceback (innermost last):
File "<CL script CL1>", line 1, in ?
iraf.spectool('o1.fits', _save=1)
IrafError: No entry found for specified stdgraph device `xgterm,spt$spectool.gui'When I change config file for this application and
setup:
[i:f5e254554f]spectrum,s,a,,,,'Initial spectrum'
template,s,h,'*.??h,*.fits',,,'Browsing template'
....
[b:f5e254554f]gui,s,h,'',,,'User interface file'[/b:f5e254554f][/i:f5e254554f]
....
Application start without spectool.gui.
I try start spectool.gui "by hand"
-->!/usr/local/bin/obmsh ~/iraf_main1/extern/guiapps/spt/spectool.gui&
It started but I can not push any button.I try insert in file ~/iraf_main1/extern/guiapps/spt/spectool.gui
as first string "#!/usr/local/bin/obmsh". But spectool.gui do not started
anyway. FrownI turn off NumLock and spectool.gui(which started "by hand")
make it possible to push any button, but do not permit open any spectra. I need help!! Who know how fix this problem
please help.Azamat

As far as I know, Pyraf doesn't use the standard IRAF graphics kernel. In the CL/ECL this is builtin and when running from an XGterm window is able to make use of the OBM to run a GUI. Starting the GUI by hand won't do any good since it isn't connected to the client IRAF application, however you should still be able to run SPECTOOL without the GUI as a normal graphcis app (although I won't say it definitely would work under pyraf in that way). Unless the pyraf folks can offer some advice, you may need to run the GUI apps under the CL only.-Mike
