Good Night,I've just installed UBUNTU on my computer and I'm trying to install IRAF on it. But I don't know how to install neither what files download, because I'm running LINUX for a breath time.
If somebody could help me, I would be in debt with this person.Thanks.

If you don't want to use the regular installation instructions, see Mike Hutchinson's Ubuntu page at http://mjhutchinson.com/journal/2006-11-05/install_iraf_on_ubuntu_edgy_amd64-Mike

I'm using UBUNTU 6.06, I just installed it in the standard way and it worked. Just choose the right files.

This page describes how to setup IRAF on a Ubuntu/Debian machine. Apart from the exact commands, there are some instructions in square brackets that need to be followed. Installation of X11IRAF, DS9, Tables, and STSDAS are included.http://geco.phys.columbia.edu/~rubab/iraf/
