HelloNot exactly IRAF question, but anywhere.... Does anybody know if there is IDL procedure that can read the IRAF spectral WCSs - multispec, etc.? I wrote one myself but it has not been tested extensively and I was wondering if there is something esle around. Thanks.Vallery

Vallery,If you don't get a specific IDL reference....The WSPECTEXT task or LISTPIX with wcs=world set will dump a simple text file of the spectrum I'm sure you can read easily. Otherwise, Google or the IDL astronomy library may be your best bet.-Mike

Hi Mike,I've beed doing exactly that, and this is actually what I want to avoid;-) I would like to be able to operate on the FITS files directly. My IDL procedure seems to work fine. It works with Chebychev and Legendre polinomial, and linear and log-linear solutions, which is what most people use I guess. But as I said, the program is not tested much and I wanted to know if something else, well tested exists.Vallery
