Hello there,I found this forum is very useful and am learning a lot from other
people's questions!I'm trying to install STSci's STSDAS/TABLES v3.5 under /iraf/extern.
(Our system is caos linux on 64 bits machine)It didn't compile smoothly, so I asked HST desk for help and they
suggested me to install your:ftp://iraf/noao.edu/pub/fitz/hbin_2122.linux.so I did it. It gets better but I'm getting a series of errors for library incompatibilities such as libmain.a, libf2c.a etc because our machine
is 64bits and stsdas/tables v3.5 do not work on our system. Is there any quick solution for this? Do I need to collect these libraries
and compile them?I looked up your forum, and 64 bits were discussed in the past (like Sep19,
Jan10). It implied 64 bit library might be released in the near future, and I'm
wondering when it would happen. I believe it is about time.Thank you very much in advance for your advice!--Nao

64-bit systems are not supported for compilation at this time (it is a major future project though). You'll need to install pre-built binaries and in the case of caos linux just grab the redhat binaries but install in a 'bin.linux' directory of the package. Write back if you still have problems, I have a caos system setup but didn't test any external packages.Cheers,
-Mike
