Hi Jean-Marc, We're aware of build problems under newer GCC versions and have
plans to build a new X11IRAF release, but just haven't found the time.
In the meantime, you can try a snapshot release at ftp://iraf.noao.edu/pub/fitz/x11iraf-v1.3.2-bin.redhat.tar.gzThese are Redhat binaries but should work on your system. If not, then
try using a hacked source distribution at ftp://iraf.noao.edu/pub/fitz/x11iraf-new_gcc.tgzto see if you have any better luck compiling from source.
It isn't likely we'll prepare a release specifically for Ubuntu,
but let me know if you still have problems with the above.Cheers,
