Hello, I was wondering if you could tell me what the units are in the
"mean isophotal intensity" derived from the ELLIPSE task. I'm trying to
construct a radial profile of HI data, so magnitude doesn't help much, so
I'm trying to reconstruct a useful parameter, such as HIMASS/pc^2, but I
can't find what the units of mean isophotal intensity are. Thank you.Lorenza

Hi Lorenza,
According to the source code the 'mean isophotal
intensity' is dimensionless. There is a separate column
for the mean isophotal magnitude but since this is an
STSDAS task you'd be better of asking their help desk
(help@stsci.edu) for a more knowledgable reply. Hope
this helps.Cheers,
Mike Fitzpatrick
