Subject: Question about catalog formats
Hi Phillip,Thanks! I did not realize that FOCAS only supports .imh file. So all I
had to do was to convert .fits to .imh.Now, I am using FOCAS for matching catalogs between the data our
telescope took and reference catalogs available from the internet(USNO,
GSC, TYCHO, etc). But I am not sure how to convert the reference
catalog file (a text file) into FOCAS format (a binary file only
readable to FOCAS programs. How should I address this problem???-Peng

Hello Peng,I'm sorry for the delay in replying. Phil passed your question on to
me. I wrote FOCAS many years ago. I admit it has been many years so
I don't remember all the details. A quick look at the list of
programs it appears to me that the idea command for what you want to
do is "artcat".Yours,
Frank Valdes
