Too whom it may concern, Hello, my name is Peter Allen and I have been trying to create a
blank fits file using IRAF. I stumbled upon a task called imcreate when I
searched through the IRAF help pages. This seemed like the perfect task
for the job. I would normally just imcopy an existing file but I do not
have one of the appropriate size. However, I cannot find imcreate
anywhere within the IRAF package that I have, so I was wondering if you
could tell me where I can find imcreate or some other task that would do
the same job. Thank you for your time. Sincerly, Peter Allen

Hello Peter; There is a task in the artdata package called mknoise (do help mknoise)
and put most of the parameters to create pixels to zero. Another one more
general to generate arbitrary pixel value is mkpattern (in the same artdata
package).Pleae let us know if you have any more questions.Regards,
Nelson Zarate
