Hello Pui;
Mike forwarded your message. This problem was discover by your
colleague Kevin T.C. Jim and there is a share library available for
SUNOS 5.6 and 5.7 with the fix. This bug fix will be available for the
general users in our next patch release, but in the meantime you can
dowload the share libraries from:iraf.noao.edu/pub/S11_zfiofxf.5.[6,7].e # 2 files Please grab this file and put it in some directory with the name
(for 5.7): 'S11_5.7.e'. Then create a link 'ln -s S11_5.7.e S11.e'; finally
define a shell variable:

setenv IRAFULIB <dir_path>/ # Notice the '/'

where 'dir_path' is the directory where the above S11* files are.

Now you are ready to start the IRAF cl and test the images problem.
(same procedure for 5.6)Please let me know if you have problems or need the fix for other
platform. I am curious about the 8bits images. Where are coming from?Regards
