I have a PC with a digital alpha 533a processor working under Linux
Readhat 5.2.
Wich IRAF should I install ?

Hi Rene,
The Alpha-based PC's aren't supported although we've been told
that (but can't confirm in the case of IRAF) the existing Digital Unix and
even Intel Linux binaries will actually run on these machines in
compatibility mode (using the 'em86' emulator). You cannot however
compile anything, we can supply binaries for external packages but IMFORT
is out of the question. A native port to Alpha Linux wouldn't be that
hard but you could not simply recompile the system and expect it to work,
but unfortunately we don't currently have plans to port to Alpha Linux (we
don't have a machine). Several people have asked about this and we're
keeping an eye on whether Alpha/Linux becomes popular in the community
before deciding to port. I hope this helps, if you have problems or can
confirm that the existing binaries work in compatibility mode please let
